We are always pleased to assist with the planning of your excursions and with our local knowledge will attempt to help you make the most of your stay in the Highlands, no matter what your interests might be. We have a range of local guides and maps of the area for guest’s information as well and the local Tourist Information Centre in Aviemore is close at hand to assist you with information from further afield in the Highlands.

Boat of Garten is ideally situated in the Highlands of Scotland and is easily accessible from all major routes whether by car, rail or air. Our central location enables our guests to use Moorfield House as a base, giving easy access to the many sites of sporting, historical and cultural interests that the Highlands has to offer including, Cairngorm and the Grampian Mountain Range, numerous excellent golf courses, the RSPB Osprey centre at Loch Garten and RSPB Loch Ruthven, Abernethy and Glenmore Forests, Rothiemurchus Highland Estate, the River Spey (Salmon & Trout fishing), Strathspey Steam Railway, miles of walking and cycling tracks, Cawdor Castle, Urquhart Castle, Culloden Battlefield, Clava Cairns, Aviemore, the Highland Folk Museum at Newtonmore, the Highland Wildlife park at Kincraig, Balmoral Castle and Royal Deeside, Loch Ness & Inverness, the Moray coast, Nairn, Elgin, Pitlochry and Blair Atholl
